PEPPER COLOR WHEEL oil on board, 6x6

7/24/08 I'm back home. I looked at these 3 peppers and noticed that they have the color wheel colors except for blue and violet, so I added those. This is another palette knife painting. I still love the palette knife!

M'S PETUNIAS acrylic on board, 4x6

These petunias are growing in my mother's flower bed. She sat outside on the deck with me this afternoon while I painted this en plein air.

I've finally gotten the last 3 paintings posted. I'm back with my parents again and posting is much slower and more difficult here. It surely makes me appreciate the technology in my home.

GIFT BASKET watercolor on paper, 4 1/2x7

7/21/08 This is a big basket of fruit and nuts and gifts my mother received. It was a joy to paint! The scent of apples filled the air.

HANDMADE FLOWERS 4 1/2 x 7, watercolor on paper

7/20/08 My very creative, artist friend, Alex, made all of this except the pecan branch she glued the flowers to. She made it as a gift for my mother who has it on the coffee table in her living room. It's really beautiful!

Self-Portrait 4 oil on board, 6x6

Here's my pallette knife self-portrait which I painted while looking in a mirror. I'm not entirely pleased with it, so I'll work on it a little more. But, I wanted to go ahead and post it.

BIANCA BY THE WATER oil on board, 5x7

Well, I've done it again. I came home today and I can't find my camera cord, so I guess I left it at my parents' house. Unless I find it, I won't be posting any photos until I get back over there. I'll post the information about the paintings without pictures.

I found my cord!!! It was right where I was looking for it last night...

RUSSELL'S POND oil on board, 5x7

This is the pond behind my son's home in the country. It's really beautiful there. I painted this from a picture I took several months ago. The ducks have since disappeared, probably victims of coyotes.

Hello

I guess you wondered where I was. My mother has been ill and I've been with her and my father. I've been painting every day in the hospital and at their home, but haven't been able to post. So, here are all the paintings I've done in the past 2 weeks. I'll try to post more often now, even though it may not be every day since I'm still spending a good bit of time with them. I still love oil paint, but I used watercolor in the hospital and both watercolor and acrylic here at their home most of the time. Most of these paintings were done from life. Oh, by the way, today is their 66th anniversary!
