FOUR RED ONES oil on board, 6x6

My Dad's summer garden is still producing peppers! The plants are prettier and have more peppers now than when the weather was so hot during the summer. I picked the red and orange ones to paint and the green ones to eat.

PEPPERS AND SHADOWS oil on board, 6x6

I placed these colorful peppers on my drawing table in front of a window and painted quickly before the light changed. The shadow in the upper right is from a vase of dried flowers and a glass of tea also on the table.

PEPPER COLOR WHEEL oil on board, 6x6

7/24/08 I'm back home. I looked at these 3 peppers and noticed that they have the color wheel colors except for blue and violet, so I added those. This is another palette knife painting. I still love the palette knife!

PEPPER COUPLE, AKA PEPPER TANGO
oil on canvas, appr 7"x5"

These are the same two Anaheim peppers I've painted before and they're now becoming elderly. They're still pretty, though, so I thought I'd paint them again, this time in a sundae glass.

ORANGE ANAHEIM
oil on canvas, appr 4"x6"

This is the other pepper I bought. It was just beginning to turn when I bought it. I wonder what it will look like in a few more days. Since this pepper has such a warm color I decided to make the whole painting warm. Besides the shadow, there is also a reflection of the orange pepper.

RECLINING ANAHEIM
oil on canvas, appr 4"x6"

Happy St. Patrick's Day!! I wanted to paint something green today, so I bought this Anaheim pepper. It was nice to paint it on a shiny surface. Not only is there a shadow, but also a reflection. I also bought one that is turning red. I'll paint it in a few days probably.
