A Eureka Moment
SOLD Oil on canvas, 12 x 12 x 1 1/2 inch gallery wrapped canvas. (The painting continues around onto the sides of the canvas.) We have lots of ruby throated hummingbirds right now. I think it's migration season. I took pictures of many of them and of my hanging baskets and put pictures together for this painting. I am donating it to the auction at the Museum of East Texas fundraiser, Dinner and Dancing, which is this weekend.

Grasshopper
Oil on 6"x6" gallery wrapped canvas. This is another of the little bird paintings in the Museum of East Texas exhibition (for more information, call 936-639-4434). This little Eastern Phoebe is holding a grasshopper in its beak. I loved painting these birds! It was fun and challenging painting the 1 1/2" deep sides of these canvases.

Oil on 6"x6" gallery wrapped canvas. This is another of my birds in the four person exhibition at the Museum of East Texas (for more information, call 936-639-4434). I watched this little Eastern Phoebe (a type of flycatcher) dart around near the ground catching bugs at our farm in Central Texas.

HEAVENLY FINCHES, 6x8, oil on canvas on panel
My dear friend, Bill, passed away this morning. He always had a cheerful word and a hug for me and I will miss him terribly. These finches are for him. Maybe he can see them.

STANDING WATCH oil on canvas, 9x12
SOLD I finally have something to post!!! I'm having a lot of trouble finding enough time to paint and finish anything. But, this is finished--I think. It's a donation for our museum fundraiser. The John James Audubon exhibition opens at the Museum of East Texas this weekend and everything donated for the auction has to be about birds.I love humming birds! A hummingbird feeder and this dreamcatcher hang about a foot outside my kitchen window, so I watch them a lot and photograph them often. This is a Ruby Throated Hummingbird. He's guarding the feeder.
