Friday, Nov. 23. These keys were in my family's old farm house. I liked the contrast between the old antique sketeton key and the more modern keys on the same chain. And, the washers were interesting.

THANKSGIVING AFTERNOON

Thurs, Nov. 22. This is a view from the house on my family's farm in Leon County. After a big Thanksgiving dinner with lots of relatives, it was nice to just sit and enjoy the quiet and the beautiful country and paint this part of it. It was a cloudy, cold day and there was sleet later in the evening.

Wed, Nov. 21. I painted this in a moving vehicle on the way to a Thanksgiving family reunion in Leon County. It is a scene near Henderson which I photographed a week or two ago.

CHOLULA HOT SAUCE

This is Monday's painting. I discovered Cholula Hot Sauce a few years ago and when I realized that it actually came from Cholula, Mexico, I liked it even better. I visited Cholula many years ago when I was in college and was fascinated by the history and the beauty there.

There are a lot of pretty flowers here in the Valley. This is from a next door neighbor's Hibiscus bush.

Today was a beautiful, sunny day. This grapefruit tree is loaded with almost ripe grapefruits.

WINDBLOWN PALM

This is a plein air painting of the top of a palm tree. The sky was overcast and it was very windy. I had to hold on to everything to keep it from being blown away.

This is a plein air painting of a grapefruit on my sister-in-law's tree in her backyard. The weather is beautiful here in the winter--in the 70s and 80s.

EVENING SHADOWS

I painted this little landscape from a photograph while traveling. My husband and I were on our way to the Texas Valley and I painted it while he drove. It's the first time I have painted while riding in a moving vehicle, but it worked ok as long as the road was smooth.

I painted this Saturday evening. It is a church steeple in Henderson, TX. I spent the day with Russell and Ana at a festival in Henderson and took pictures of all the interesing sights. This was painted from one of my photographs.

As you've probably noticed, fruit is one of my favorite subjects. I like the colors and shapes of various fruits. And, I like including shadows and reflections in the compositions.

Shiny things are great to paint! These two pears are different in color and shape, so I placed them apart, but I joined them with shadows and reflections.

The late afternoon sun made a long shadow on the tablecloth. This was a very nice pear to paint.
