THE LAST FLOWER oil on board, 6x4

This turned out to be rather surreal. I just sat down and quickly painted this scene in my studio and when I finished, I was surprised. It isn't how I had planned to paint it at all. I didn't really think about it or concentrate on it like I usually do.

Very appealing composition. I like the vertical lines of the window panes, the wall highlight and flower. All the varying shades of Lavender next to the Rusts in the flower are really lovely. I like the way you suggested the glass shape rather than paint the hard edges.

Thank you for your kind comments, Gwen! I'm not sure who painted this. I just sat down and picked up my brush and thought about other things and it kind of painted itself... It came out kind of strange.
